Dadra taal Aad Layakari is a widely known name in Hindustani classical music.
Dadra : Dadra taal is a popular rhythmic taal used in Northern Indian music and dance. It consists of 6 beats which are divided into 3/3 divisions. This taal has 1 Claps on the 1st beats and 1 wave on the 4th beat. The first beat of rhythm is called 'sam'
Layakari : refers to the variety and complexity of rhythm, which a musician skillfully introduces overlaying different tempos and beat divisions.
Aad Laya or Layakari : Aad' means 'one and a half' in Hindi, so aad laya means introducing a rhythmic pattern that increases the original beat cycle by one and a half times. In other words, 1.5 multiples means 3 beats by 2 bits or 6 beats by 4 bits means 1.5 bits each.
